Ambassador Bockari Kortu Stevens was educated at Fourah Bay College, the University of Sierra Leone where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science in 1975. Thereafter, he pursued his Master’s of Arts degree at the University of East London from September 2001- June 2002. He obtained a Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science in June 1982.
From 1988 - 1992 Ambassador Stevens served as Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Republic of Guinea, Cape Verde, Mali and Guinea Bissau with residence in Conakry. Before this, he served as Personnel Manager at the Sierra Leone Ports Authority from 1976 - 1981.
Prior to his appointment as Ambassador in November 2007, he was a grassroots capacity building officer where he restored hope to many Ethnic Minority Groups in the London Borough of Southwark, specifically in areas of good governance and fund raising.
Ambassador Stevens has undertaken a lot of research works, one of which was commissioned by Southwark Council that identified the needs of the Sierra Leonean Community groups in the London Borough of Southwark.
Ambassador Stevens was born on December 30, 1950 in Moyamba, Southern Sierra Leone and is married to Madam Musu Stevens together, they have five children.
