Ambassador's Bio

Ambassador Bockari Kortu Stevens Ambassador Bockari Kortu Stevens was educated at Fourah Bay College, the University of Sierra Leone where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science in 1975. Thereafter, he pursued his Master’s of Arts degree at the University of East London from September 2001- June 2002.

History of the Embassy

Relations between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the United States of America began with Missionary activities in the 19th century through commercial activites. The relations since then have been cordial, giving rise to the establishment of a resident Embassy in Washington DC on Thursday, April 27, 1961 at the level of Charge d'Affaires A.I.
